Macon-Bibb Fire Chief Marvin Riggins confirmed that a fire department employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The macon-bibb fire department is taking extra precautions after a member of the fire department tested positive for covid-19.

Chief marvin riggins says the department has cleaned all of the fire houses.

He says crews are washing a lot of clothes... sanitizing uniforms and washing hands.

Riggins adds firemen are wearing masks when responding to calls.

And they are practicing social distancing as best as they can.

Phoner - "don't think it's unprofessional.

I hope it doesn't appear to be as we respond.

We are trying to be as safe as possible so we are there for times in need."
