- this weekend, some of those - heroes made it their mission to- give back to the people they- serve.

Sot-tim hill, sergeant,- wiggins police department.- "once the coronavirus hit, we said we wanted to do something- to make - the community keep hope.

So - reaching out to the local - churches...they all - answered and said yes we would- like to do this."

With the help of volunteers fro- northwood church, members - of the wiggins police departmen- delivered meals - to area residents at the o'neal- senior center on- saturday, getting up early to - prepare barbecue- dinners.- standup - "from the kitchen...to the delivery line, stone county - residents of all ages - felt the impact and had the - chance to interact with their - local law enforcement."

Sergeant tim hill says the- community partnerships- among businesses that donated - food and supplies to- make this happen have grown - stronger and stronger.- - - - sot-tim hill- "all of the businesses here, they just, whenever i ask, they- give.

The - churches...the same way, all of- the churches here, the same way- even, we- have people that just come up - and want to give a donation - because they like the - - - - cause."

As for the folks from northwood- the ability to lend a - hand to the department and thei- neighbors is a way to put - faith into action.- sot-mike minnis: pastor,- northwood church, wiggins - campus- "it's one thing to say you're a christian, it's one thing to go- to a church and attend- church, and another thing to ge- out in the community and be the- hands and feet of - jesus and to be able to truly - show christ- likeness, the love- of christ, to people- firsthand."
