Follow the state's guidelines.

We are nearing the one-month mark for distance learning across north alabama.

As we round out the school year online leaders are now looking towards the future, and what challenges could arise in the fall.

Joining us this morning via zoom is florence city school superintendent, dr. jimmy shaw.

Dr. shaw thank you for joining us.

Wait for response dr. shaw, we last spoke with you about 3 weeks ago, just as the online learning was getting started, how has it been going?

-florence city schools is fortunate in having a 1 to 1 ratio with every student having access to online capabilities, how is that helping?

What about the lack of paper packets?

Does it hurt?

-what does the fall look like?

Are you looking ahead?

What about opening central offices for registration, etc?

-some parents have told me they're a bit concerned about sending kids back to school.

They said if school systems give the option to distance learn vs actually sending kids they'd want to distance learn for a bit longer.

I've emailed the state boe to see if that's an option.

Dr. jimmy shaw, superintendent florence city schools, thank you for your time this morning.
