9 news.
Staying in roseburg... we've recieved several complaints from people saying parks and streets were flooded with people despite stay at home orders still in effect.
And with the warm weather ahead...it's going to be extremely hard to keep people inside.
Kezi 9 news reporter kennedy dendy went down there to see for herself if people were following the order or risking it all.
I'm here at the douglas county courthouse which beginning monday will be back open to the public.
But some worry the county's urging to return to business as usual is encouraging residents to disregard social distancing.
Fair: "i am concerned about people being over anxious to get out before we are really ready."
Fair hewitt says she's finding more activities she can do to occupy her time, keeping peace throughout the pandemic.
Fair: "my husband has several health issues that cause me to be isolated a little more and our age is a factor as well.
I'm finding ways to engage in more reading..i'm working puzzles."
Residents say the town as been busier than normal even just over the last few days.
And with the recent announcement by the board of commissioners that the courthouse will be reopening monday, many wonder what this soon look like for the county.
Debbie: "it is a little bit scary, so for me.
I'm still going to protect myself.
I use a mask when i go into the grocery store and stay distanced.
I think just taking some precautions would be advisable right away because you just don't know if its going to resurge or what."
Fair: "the statistics are not there to prove it's safe to be okay to be out.
I'm a little bit leery of that."
Coming up in the six o clock hour, hear from more residents about why they think social distancing shouldn't go by the wayside.
