Think tank suggests new surveillance measures to tackle coronavirus spread A UK think tank believes a major increase in state surveillance is a "price worth paying" to beat coronavirus.
The disease has created chaos in the country, leading to a nationwide lockdown, and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change now believes an increase in surveillance could provide an "escape route" from the crisis.
The institute explained: The alternative options are said to be an overwhelmed health system or an economy in freefall.
