Has the covid-19 the covid-19 outbreak has halted just about every aspect of the sports industry, with one notable exception.

That's e-sports.

News 10's dominic miranda spoke with the owner of ebash today.

He joins us now with more on how ebash is using this pandemic to bring people together in a unique way.

Pk} owner of ebash here in terre haute zack johnson told me.... the coronavirus has made them restructure how to get their esports players involved.

They went from having 90-100 kids every friday night come and game.... to being closed for the time being due to the pandemic.

But johnson let me in on something they have brewing to keep the wabash valley together through esports.

V} johnson told me the objective is to gather players to play these esports games together in person.

However now, they will be able to do it virtually.

That's why ebash in terre haute is recreating what they provide for the wabash valley community.

Johnson says they will soon be able to include those playing at home, and connect everyone through their ebash location.

His goal is to have the same fun, exciting, and competitive environment they used to have every weekend.

He told me esports has created an opportunity during this pandemic.

Especially for kids.

So} zack johnson, owner, ebash in terre haute "like being able to get together with a west vigo kid, a terre haute north kid, a south kid and a northview kid.

This is an opportunity to gather our community together around something like esports.

Same thing as sports has always given but right now, we can't play sports.

It's, i think, going to give kids that interaction that they're missing."

Do} dominic miranda dominic.miranda@wthitv.com <mailto:dominic.miranda@wth... om there's no question esports has gained popularity during this time of stayin home.

Now it just might shed some light and bring our community closer together.
