JCPenney could file for bankruptcy as early as this week, according to Reuters.
The retailer reportedly skipped a $12 million interest payment on April 15 which gives them 30 days before they are forced into bankruptcy.
Nearly 212 of its stores, almost a quarter of its locations, will be closed.
