Indonesians ignore social distancing to queue for state aid

Residents of Padang city in Indonesia crowd a member of the authorities to receive a queue number in order to collect state aid during the coronavirus pandemic.

In chaotic scenes in the West Sumatra city on Friday (May 15), those who gathered ignored social distancing rules in order to get their hands on a ticket allowing them to later pick up 600,000 rupiah (around $40).

There are nearly 400 cases of COVID-19 in West Sumatra to date.
