2020 BET Awards to Be Held Virtually On May 20, BET announced that despite the COVID-19pandemic, the 2020 BET Awards will still be held.

According to Scott Mills, President of BET, it is “more important than ever” to celebrate Black culture, accomplishments and excellence.

Scott Mills, via statement This year’s show is especially significant, as it marks the award show's 20th anniversary and BET’s 40th anniversary.

According to a press release, the virtual show will use an “array of innovative techniques and artist-generated content” to deliver “not to be missed moments.” Connie Orlando, Executive Vice President at BET, says the show will be filled with "empowering and entertaining moments" despite the "challenges" caused by the pandemic.
