Last year when i visited clear lake during the fourth of july?

City park here was packed with food booths and carnival rides.

This year, it will be as empty as it is right now.

The city made the announcement earlier this afternoon during a press conference.

The fourth of july committee waited as long as possible to make the call?

But ultimately decided the best thing to do was to call it all off.

Mayor nelson crabb explained that asking first responders to take on the additional duties of policing an event of this size was just not prudent during a public health emergency.xxx given the reality of covi?19, our highest priority is the health and safety of our guests, participants, staff, volunteers, and our community.

The city is also exploring the option of holding a smaller fireworks display at another location?
