But with the unemployment number still in the millions people i spoke with today are convinced that things aren't going to get better any time soon.

>> thursday the department of labor announced another 2.1 million people filed their first unemployment claim last week.

That significantly down since more than 6 million people applied in one week last month.

But 2 million is still ten times higher than the average number of coronavirus.

40 million americans have filed for unemployment in about two months.

People i spoke with are not optimistic.

>> it's only going to get worse.

Yeah, i know they say the numbers have gotten better but unemployment hasn't imt gotten any better.

>> economists believe as states start to reopen the number will begin to get better as well.

But it won't with synchronized since every state has a different reopening plan.
