We've been talking about the planned protest schedule for later on this afternoon at five here in huntsville.

And about some possible concerns also over social distancing involving those who attend.

The local chapter of the naacp is hosting this evening's event at big spring park.

Joining us right now is the president of the huntsville.

Madison county naacp, mr. jerry burnet.

Mr. burnet.

Good morning.

Pause a few days ago we saw what was mostly a peaceful protest, then it turned a bit violent at the end.

What are your expectations for this protest?

We hear from some protestors that say talk is one thing, they want to see action.

What kind of action should be taken in the wake of the death of george floyd?

We hear from medical officials who are concerned about these gatherings that include so many people in close proximity to one another.

What are your concerns about social distancing?

Especially when it comes to the african-american community many of which are very susceptible to getting the coronavirus?

What's your overall message about peace moving forward as a community - a total community to walk together and get through this strife?

Huntsville.

Naacp, mr. jerry burnet.

Thanks for joining
