Dining resumed here in the mohawk valley.

But by the time word from the governor trickled down to restaurant owners...they had very little time to prepare.

News channel 2's caitlin irla takes us to one local restaurant who wasted no time getting ready.

In less than 24... killabrew in new hartford transformed part of their parking lot into an outdoor restaurant... .

None .

None "we literally just took our tables that were inside, brought them out, set up some tents and over the next few days we're going to set up some lattice and some other things to kind of make it a little cozier for people."

Mike volz, the owner of killabrew says it was fairly easy to put together.

"for the last few weeks, i've been anticipating a scenario like this happening so i've been planning for that."

"this is a back portion of the parking lot i had some natural barriers around the property to just rope off a section."

He's glad to have his customers back.

"i'm super excited, any step in the right direction is huge for us."

And his customers seem to be even happier.

"its so nice to back and have some sort of normalcy with some friends of mine and eating at our favorite establishment and having a couple of drinks and just enjoying the killabrew again."

Add in the beautiful weather and you've got a great combination.

"its beautiful out here it's a beautiful day and we're out here having our dinner and enjoying some laughs which we haven't been able to do that in such a long time so its nice to be able togk in our lives."

All precautions are being taken... everything is santized after each use... including the restrooms. "we're allowing one customer in at a time with a mask on and we sanitize the bathroom as soon as they leave.

As soon as they get up from the table, any surfaces, chairs tables any condiment containers will be sanitized between each service."

As for weather concerns.

"we are at the mercy of mother nations because i don't have a tent or covering at this time so if the weather permits, we're going to do it if it doesn't, we'll have to halt the outdoor operation."
