Now at 10.

First at 10 - we are weeks away from the fourth of july - and without citywide celebrations - thousands are turning to their drive way for annual traditions.

And as you may have heard -- getting started a little early.

Those beautiful explosions of color - are causing disruptions across our cities.

From dispatchers being flooded with calls - to keeping neighbor from a good night's sleep.

44news reporter erran huber explains - wanting to celebrate americas birthday is now becoming a burden for some tri- staters.

Erran?

"yes, and my neighborhood is pretty bad with it.

But people have been on couch arrest for so long.

Get out of their house a bit, and enjoy it.

And the kids like it.

It happens every year."

With many fourth of july events cancelled tri staters are taking the celebrations into their own hands.

Even in the middle of june.

"and we always get a lot of complaints, and we try and do as much education as we can.haringsboro police many of those are from people worried theye hearing shots fired.

Theye had 7 calls in the county and six in the city on fireworksith weeks still to go before independence day.

There are a number of local ordinances and state laws that deal with fireworks, and they vary across the tri state.

In indiana ou are allowed o shoot off fireworks on your property until 11 p.m.

On most days.

But in some communities like in evansville city limits, fireworks can only be set off between june 29th-july 9th from 5 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

Illinois has the most strict laws, prohibiting most fireworks unless you obtain the proper permit.

In kentucky cities like owensboro cutoff time most days--10 pm.

While some aren't bothered by it: oh, no no no.

No no.

We're used to it.

This time of year, around fourth of july and all that, we usually hear all those and everything.

Local leaders are asking those who are planning to fire off-- to be considerate of others--like pet owners and veterans.

But they also are sharing--though they work to keep illegal noise down-- there's still a possibility of more through the month.

"i think we just need to be prepared that not everyone has a vegetable grown in their garden that's called common sense.

So we'll just see how it goes."
