The 19,000 participants of the Boilermaker Road Race, between the 5K and 15K races, will have a different look on race day.

While locals can still run the course on their own time, out-of-town participants won't have that luxury.

The decision to hold the 43rd boilermaker road race virtually has caused some mixed reactions.

As we heard earlier tonight - local runners who can still run the course may be able to stick to a similar routine.

For those who come each year from out of town - it's a different story.

Nats: of the nearly 19,000 participants expected between the 5-k - 15-k and wheelchair divisions for the boilermaker - many make a yearly trip for far and wide to take part in the festivities.

Without that as an option - it's a big blow to summer tradition.

None for people in our area - it's a day circled on the calendars each year.

Turns out - it's like that for people who come in from out of town as well.

It really is a race like no other.

The decision is made - now it's up to us to decide what to make of it.
