Of rome....you'll notice banners displayed on street posts.
They say...''keep the spirit'' and ''rome united''.... usually the banners are put up in the days leading up to ''honor america days''.... but thanks to a generous donation from woodmen insurance.... these new ones were created specifically for this year.
In early may....rome mayor jackie izzo announced the honor america days celebration...was cancelled.
The annual celebration in its 36th year...was supposed to be much larger this year..... as the city of rome celebrates its 150th anniversary.
You can find these banners... by the way..... along james and dominick streets in downtown rome.
