Governor Bill Lee signs bill and says Tennessee is now one of the most pro-life states in America.

Bill lee has signed the "heartbeat bill" into law, making it one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country.

The legislation bans abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is normally at about six weeks into pregnancy.

Governor lee signed the bill on facebook live monday morning, saying it's the state's "responsibility to protect the most vulnerable in our community."

Certainly the most vulnerable in tennessee includes the unborn which is why the signature of this bill, tennessee is one of the most pro life states in america.

Almost immediately after the law was signed, a federal court issued a temporary restraining order..

A federal judge today permanently blocked georgia's 'heartbeat' abortion law, finding that it violates the constitution.

U.s. district judge steve jones had issued a temporary block on that law going into effect last october.

A lawsuit was filed against h-b 4-81 by abortion providers and an advocacy group.
