Huntington Twin Drive-in preparing for reopening weekend

The Huntington Twin Drive-in will be hosting events starting Friday, July 24 for the first time this summer.

With most movie theaters closed and many concerts cancelled..there are limited entertainment options for people during the pandemic.

However, one local venue is set to welcome the community back.fox 55's jeremy masukevich shows us how the huntington twin drive-in is celebrating reopening.

Nat heath the time that we have been closed has been real hard on the staff and me as well because i have a lot of love for the drive in.

Lower third: heath thomas, goodrich quality theaters sot heath we will start regular movies as well, we are finalizing those titles as of this week we hope to have regular movies on friday and sunday but our main event is saturday with encore live and blake sheltonthis weekend you can catch musical acts part of the encore live drive-in concert series, as well as double features of classic films.thomas says having attendees in their cars will help with social distancing... and they will also be following the cdc's guidelines to social distance in lines and require masks in indoor areas.sot heath it's proven that drive-ins, especially right now, are a safe environment.

We will practice social distancing, we will ask people kindly to wear their mask.

But we are going to be open for full events.thomas says he heard a similar outcry from former employees and customers alikeall looking for accessible forms of entertainment during the pandemic.sot steven i was really excited that the drive was going to open up again.

I've done some work up here before and this place has a real special place in my heart.
