Chamber Distributes Masks

The Rochester Chamber will be distributing masks to those who need them.

The governor says his team will be working closely with chamber offices across the state to make sure everyone has a mask.

Kimt news 3's maleeha kamal is checking in with the rochester chamber to see how the process will play out in the med city.

Now not everyone has access to a mask this is why the governor office is going to be shipping out masks to organizations like the rochester area chamber of commerce so they can distribute them to people in need.

She says currently they're working out the details of mask distribution with the governors office.

She anticipates they'll be receiving a shipment today or tomorrow.

Once these masks arrive harrington says they will most likely be distributed to businesses, parternships and indivudals that need help.

"we will also set up a system that people who need them will be able to get them.

So we will be responsible for distributing a 146,000 masks.

This is going to be a big task distributing these masks but its one that we will do gladly because of the importance and we think that this is so necessary to make certain that businesses have the masks and materials that they that they need."

Look live: harrington tells me in addition to supplying businesses mask that the chamber will also be doing a webinar to governor walz says individuals who don't obey the order could face a misdemeanor and fines.

Now for businesses that fine is a lot more costly... business owners that fail to comply could face a misdemeanor fine of up to a thousand dollars.
