Now the way they have things set up is that business owner come by with their business card drop it off and in exchange they receive a box of masks.

Approximately four million masks will be distributed by chambers statewide.

Here in austin thousands of masks have already been distributed.

Elaine hansen is the president of the austin chamber of commerce.

She says masks are vital to not only stopping the spread of covid but also important for restarting the economy.

Although the boxes distributed by the chamber contain just 50 masks apiece, hansen says the effort is encouraging good habits.

It is a business expense and with all the expenses that businesses have had with the need for providing personal protection equipment for their employees as well as all the extra sanitation that they are doing its just a little bit extra to help them through a hard time.
