Tomorrow.

New at ten -- working parents in madison county are scrambling to find last minute child-care after all 3 public school districts announced online-only learning for the first 9 weeks of the school year.

Waay 31's grace campbell introduces us to one couple worried about what to do but a little relieved to know they're not alone.

Rachel drake: "i think everyone is kind of in this together, so nobody really knows what's going on.

So, i don't feel so out of place."

Rachel drake and her husband are working parents of a soon to be first grader at mountain gap elementary.

She told me they can work from home at times but it's hard to juggle work and teaching their daughter.

"neither my husband nor i have been trained to teach anybody, especially small children.

We just don't really have the patience for it, especially when we have deadlines to meet."

Rachel told me wednesday was the first time she heard about huntsville's virtual academy.

And she only has a matter of hours to decide if it's the right option for her daughter before friday afternoon's deadline.

"it is a little overwhelming because i was trying to talk to my husband about it yesterday and he said, 'well i'm a little busy with this work thing,' and i said 'well the deadline is in about two days'" with both parents working, they are concerned their daughter will fall behind.

"we're not going to have a whole lot of time to do her homework, we're not going to have a whole lot of time to devote to hands-on science experiments and things like that."

But they're sure she can get up to speed if they choose remote learning and can return to the traditional classroom after nine weeks.

"she's pretty resilient, and she can, i feel like she's going to pick right back up where she left off and she's still going to be a happy little girl."

Look live: not filmed yet rachel told me that even though they are overwhelmed with what's to come, they're going to take it one day at a time.
