Back the Blue rally in Utica

Residents gathered in Utica Friday morning to show support for police in a Back the Blue rally.

Show their support for law enforcement.

It's called "back the blue".

Back the blue rallies are happening around the country.

Several independent groups made up the rally to not only thank law enforcement, but point out how this area has not had any rioting or destruction surrounding these difficult times.

The group feels there's been a good relationship between police and community members, and want to promote a peaceful and lawful community.

The rally is being held in front of the utica police department's memorial wall which honors six police officers killed in the line of duty.
