Kezi 9 news reporter andrew haubner followed these protests from the beginning to the end-- and was at the riot late into the night... just as demonstrators began to disperse... he gave us wrap-up of everything he saw there "protesters clashed in the area late saturday night, early sunday morning.
Our evening concluded here on broadway and jefferson street where epd fired tear gas canisters out into the crowd to try and disperse them-- something they have been calling an unlawful assembly for about an hour up to that point we'll just lay out a timeline of events for you as to what happened.
Around 8pm on saturday night protesters gathered at the federal courthouse to show solidarity with a protest currently going on up in portland, counter protesters didn't arrive multiple scuffles ensued.
At one point there was an armed standoff between a protester and counter protesters.
Cooler heads ended up prevailing.
The protesters ended up moving through the town of eugene, and that was where he wanted to step in later on in the evening.
