Talking on death of three aspirants of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) by suicide ahead of the exam in Tamil Nadu, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Dr Saravanan said that NEET is not needed in Tamil Nadu. "Yesterday three students died by suicide ahead of NEET. DMK's contention is that NEET is not needed in Tamil Nadu. When there is no common syllabus throughout India how can government conduct a common exam for MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) selection? It'll be discussed in state assembly session," said Dr Saravanan. The examination took place on September 13.
Health Ministry Secretary Rajesh Bhushan during the Health Ministry briefing on September 08 informed about the contribution of states to the COVID-19 statistics. Rajesh Bhushan said, "Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu contribute 62% to the total active cases in the country." He further informed that these five states account for 70% of deaths in the country due to COVID-19 infection. Health Ministry Secretary further informed that there are 14 states and Union Territories that have less than 5000 COVID-19 cases.
Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers held a unique protest at Thangachimadam Island in Rameshwaram on September 19. Protest was against the passage of agriculture reform bills in the Lok Sabha. The posters which wish her success have been put up in many parts of the town by locals. Kamala Harris’ grandfather PV Gopalan was born in this village said a local and that’s why people are now putting up posters to wish her success. Earlier, Kamala Harris’ niece had also posted pictures on Twitter. Meena Harris said the pictures were sent to her from Tamil Nadu. The picture said ‘PV Gopalan's granddaughter is victorious’. This e-bike takes 2.5 hours to charge and can run up to 27kms. While speaking to ANI, a student, Brathikan said, "This vehicle has an electric motor. It takes 2.5 hours to charge the vehicle and it can run up to 27kms. It consumes 0.6 units of electricity." The electric bike will cost around 16,000 Rs.
