Jason, the victim is 22-year-old tyler mcbain who lived at the resid where heas found.

The was alsoscene to this homicide in waterloo.

State police confirm one suspect is in custody and they searching for another who ran after crashing the suspect's vehicle in seneca county.

This all started around 1:30 this afternoon... troopers arrived to find mcbain dead in his apartment at 91 seneca ave in oneida castle.

Another tenant was home at the time and was able to help police with some very important information.

"the person who lives downstairs was home, heard a scuffle or something, a ruckus going on upstairs, at this point and time he goes to the front door and sees a person run out from the house getting into a wading vehicle that was in the driveway and then is able to get a description and able to give us that description."

"the suspects were described as a black male that left the house," "we're still trying to piece together the actual circumstances."

The vehicle that left the scene was described as a dark- colored ford explorer.

Police say a vehicle that matched the description of the one allegedly involved in mcbain's homicide was located in seneca county.

State police near rochester tell w-h- e-c, our affiliate there, that the vehicle was spotted on the new york state thruway near the geneva exit.

Police attempted to pull over the vehicle, and after the driver didn't stop, a pursuit began.

The vehicle then crashed in a ditch near waterloo.

One person was taken in to custody and police are searching for the other person that was in the vehicle.

Police are still interviewing neighbors and witnesses.

The state police forensic team is still on the scene collecting evidence at this hour.

An autopsy is scheduled tomorrow to determine the exact cause of death.
