Covid 19 testing is the first thing new students will experience here at utica college.

All students and staff are being tested and given the results before even being allowed to get out of their vehicles.

Students began moving onto campus on monday, but out of the 1700 tested, not everyone made it on to campus.

One student and one faculty member tested positive for covid 19.

The vice president for student life says they were immediately escorted off campus after being advised on how to proceed with the disease.

I spoke with a few students about whether or not they think their peers will follow the guidelines for keeping social distancing and wearing a mask outside of school functions.

This is what they had to say: sot: dylan bayliss, freshman from red hook, ny once good news starts to spread, cases go down, maybe people will start to have social gatherings, but until then i think people will do the right thing.

Sot: jared russell, freshman from albany, ny i think we only had 2 positive tests with almost 2000 people which is good, but i think it's needed tkeep saty and prevent something bad from happening and shutting wn the whole school.
