Congressman peter defazio today toured the holiday farm fire with fema administrator michael o'hare.

They assessed the damage and discussed disaster recovery efforts.

O'hare says there are a plethora of options fema is looking at to help those affected.

That includes individual housing, long-term sheltering and even low-interest loans.

O'hare says fema will be able to help with up to 18 months of housing assistance.

Defazio says they've also discussed the possiblity of putting interim shelters back in the community for people to live once it's safe.

"they've already had discussions with some of the lodges already putting people up for free.

They pointed out that st.

Benedicts is empty and that can house a lot of people.

There may be options to work with fema to pay these lodges for people to be back in their community and help with their community's recovery which would be a wonderful way to move forward."
