Dramatic chase to catch wild bear terrorising villages in Thailand

A wild Asian black bear was caught after terrorizing a village for two weeks.

The ferocious animal had rampaged through properties injuring four locals in Khon Kaen, northeast Thailand.

Dozens of wildlife rangers and residents searched for the wild bear before it was finally found on September 16.

The rangers pointed tranquilizer guns towards the bear to stop it but the bear took flight.

One staff of the team was seen running in panic as the animal charged - before jumping down into the small pond so he could hide.

The animal was finally cornered and tranquilized after several hours of pursuit.

Vets checked the animal's pulse before giving it a macro drip.

Locals cheered when they saw the unconscious bear being carried into the truck.

Volunteers from the Phu Wiang National Park and Phu Khieo Wildlife Sanctuary carried it away.

The animal was later transferred to the national wildlife center in Chaiyaphum province.

The vets and keepers will conduct the health check before releasing it back into the forest.
