Brian and jessica sheriff allen passed away earlier this morning see a small memorial has already been set up behind me people stopping by to llace flowers and pay their respects.

And tonight entire community remembering their sheriff.

Ricki allen was a great guy and was a great sheriff...he wasn a good sheriff, he was a great sheriff and he was loved by this community?

A sad day for those throughout muhlenberg county kentucky state police confirming the news of sheriff ricki allens passing tuesday morning nephew knew him and i knew him and a lot of people in the community knew him.

He was a great guy, took time out to ask how youe doing and all that the way it should be?

Wee told a death investigation is being conductehough no foul play is suspected... sheriff allen was serving his first term as muhlenberg county sheriff after being elected in 20-18... those who knew allen say he was a good man determined person, dedicated to whatever he was doing.

He was one of those guys that made investment in kids, other officers, to me he was more than an aquaitance, he was a friend?

This year was a tough for the close knit communityust months ago deputy terry vick passing away nother well known member of law enforcemho made a difference in muhlenberg county.?that was a huge loss for our community then followed up by this, it been a double barrel for this community for sure.

Those men were both well respected and well loved and i don know how you work through these things but wee got a great community here and wel work through it the best we can?

Sheeiff allen had roughly 30 years of law enforcement experience ith his dedication to serving the community madisonville police also taking to social media today saying they are saddened by the loss of sheriff all who was a true public servant and friend to all that in life sometimes bad things happen to good people, sometimes bad things happen to good communities, but this is just a real blow to our community and it hurts, it hurts a lot?

Im told for now the coroner will sit in the position until a new sheriff is appointed... and our thoughts are most definitely with his family tonight.
