With fireworks sounding off its an explosive game between madison county and north jackson tigers qb ramiro towers starts with a pass to reciever isaiah perdue who is able to stiff arm some of the defense before being taken down.

Nearing the redzone the madison county tigers fumble the snap and is recovered by the chiefs austin lopez to give them possession.

Chiefs running back gets the ball but is quickly smothered out in the backfield by the tigers defense.

Madison county goes on to win 27-18 lets see how athens' sell out crowd cheered on the home team against a very good hartselle team.

Max, how was it out there at golden eagle stadium?

Before the game athens head coach cody gross said he was confident in his team but knew he had a momentous task to face against a well coached hartselle team in a big rivalry game.

On mccoy field -- the limestone county rivalry got off to a quick start -- as quarterback jordan scott explodes out of the pocket and puts hartselle defneders on skates before stepping out of bounds -- the late push would tack on a few more for the golden eagles.

Now in the redzone -- scott hands it off to jaylen gildbert who forces his way across the line -- giving athens an early six point lead.

After a quick hartselle possession -- the ball is back in scotts hands and he takes off again -- bringing this one inside the 10 before he's forced down by dev-ron turney.

The first quarter would end and scott would start the second with another run from behind center -- turney can't stop him this time and the golden eagles take a 12 point lead and never look back -- winning this one 19 to 7.

Athens moves to 5-3 on the season with the win -- live in athens, max cohan, waay 31 news.

The stadium was packed with fans tonight as scottsboro hosted fort payne at home.

Fort payne already up 24 to 14 sends a deep pass to cameron thomas who takes it past the defense and into the endzone to put them up 31 to 14 with little time in the half scottsboro qb jacob manning tosses it out to javaris branford but is quickly taken down.

As the buzzer rings ending the half manning looks deep to pass it but it falls incomplete at the end of the first half.

Fort payne goes on to win 41-34.
