In the past 24 hours.

Today the lane county board of commissioners is set to meet to consider further action to limit the spread of covid-19 in the community.

The meeting comes as cases steadily increase and concern grows about phase one restrictions going back into effect.

Publc health officials have been warning for one week now that we could go back to phase one if something doesn't change.

Since then, cases have only set new records.

This is a critical time to get a handle on the virus as the weather becomes cooler and more people head indoors where the virus spreads.

Here's a look at the options the board is considering.

First, they could increase efforts to get people to wear masks, social distance and limit gatherings.

They could work more closely with different organizations, like colleges and businesses and churches.

Data locally shows the majority of outbreaks are happening in the home, in the workplace, or at social gatherings.

Or they could require masks at a local level.

The last couple options are more drastic including requesting to be placed on the governor's watch list or request to return to phase one.

The most likely choice is increasing efforts to get people to wear masks and social distance.

And a reminder - governor brown is planning to address the state about coronavirus this afternoon at 11:15 a.m.

We'll have full coverage in kezi midday.
