Kids across northeast indiana without a place to sleep won't be disappointed for too long.

Fox 55's mallory beard met with a local group working to build one hundred beds for children as part of their 'heroes' project.

That place of safety to where they can get a good night's rest."the fort wayne and lagrange chapters of sleep in heavenly peace teamed up with the lowes on lima road today for their heroes project ... building more than 100 beds for children across the region without a bed of their own.

"for local kids in our community that are sleeping on the floor or on air mattresses or couches or with parents sleeping conditions where they shouldn't be sleeping."hickey says the pandemic caused a lapse in their progress over the past six months, but they continue building through any difficulty."we're just gettting back to where people are opening their homes back up to us and we're able to deliver."he says they should have close to 180 beds ready by christmas.lowe's store manager aaron murray says he hopes the beds will have an immediate impact once delivered.aaron murray//lowe's store manager"anytime that you can affect your community, but have an impact right in the home...jack hall says he was on board as soon as he got the call.jack hall//lowe's store manager//illnois rd.
