Fayette county clerk don blevins..says he needs you to vote now.

He called thursday...another "anemic" day of voting.

He says more than two thousand people... voted in- person today in lexington...over 25- thousand overall...not enough to avoid long lines on election day...according to blevins.

The good news comes from absentee ballots.

Blevins says his office is now processing ballots as they arrive....the backlog that started when his office had to quarantine after a coronavirus case is over.

He says that's a big turning point for his office that never happened during the primary...and it could mean we'll have more results on election day.

Blevins says of the more than 95- thousand absentee ballots requested...73 percent... have been filled out and sent back in...and 65% processed.
