Former Maur Hill teammates ready for Sunflower Showdown

The sunflower showdown one of the biggest regional rivalries..

Kansas and kansas state... and for two former maur hill football players... this game with a little extra meaning..

Kq2's danielle sachse reports... running back at k-state harry trotter and nick junior safety at ku, started off as teammates and now, they are sideline foes.

Will face-off in their second sunflower sot: harry trotter, senior rb at kansas "yeah, super cool.

Of course nick caudle, i got to play year.

It was--it was pretty cool actually.

I had him on year.

We had a play where we had blocking him one on one.

It was pretty cool.

And um, you know, just seeing two kids from at this stage and being able to play against each other both have had to overcome their football journey...caudle battled last two high school years,and trotter-- played for two other schools in making it to the big 12 state university "you know, just there and talking to him after the game.

Moment.

He's worked really hard to get to where he's definitely a cool moment."and now, they get to play in a rivalry game that they've been watching since kids university "you know, i did grow up a ku fan, went to numerous sunflower showdowns as kids.

I never thought i'd be able to play in how the cards came out, and now being here at k-state, um it's just a blessing those games it's always a fun game.

It's always competitive, it's always emotional.

And, you know, it's at the state.

You know, one of the year so i'm definitely looking forward
