Firefighter graduation in Utica

A graduation ceremony for the latest class of firefighters was held at Utica City Hall on Wednesday, Oct.

These firefighters come from all parts of the state, and have to endure over three hundred hours of training.

Traditionally the graduation is held in the common council chambers, but because of covid restrictions, the ceremony is being held outside city hall.

Mayor robert palmieri welcomed the new recruits as family and friends waited for the pinning ceremony.

This year's class had a different experience training through a pandemic.

The utica fire department is welcoming three of the new recruits to their department.
