Heidi said she saw what looked like a barrel of a gun sticking out of one of the windows.

That's when the shooting started.

In our newscasts earlier this evening we told you about a woman who was shot in the face with a paint ball gun last night while walking home from work.

And new tongiht at 11--- she's speaking out about her terrifying experience.

Thank you for joining us-- i'm chynna greene.

Kezi nine news reporter connor mccarthy spoke with the woman this evening and shares with us his exclusive interview.---connor the victim-- -- heidi-- says she was walking home over the maxwell bridge in west eugene last night when she was shot.

She says even though it was a paint ball-- those first few seconds of not knowing what happened-- are seconds she will never forget.

"they just kept firing, just, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop," out of no where... "i just froze, i was really scared, i couldn't move."

Paint balls began flying out of a car passing heidi.

"they hit me and i fell on the ground."

But she didn't know it was a paint ball at first.

"i grabbed my face when it hit me and stuff and i pulled my hand a way a little bit and i felt the wet from the paint ball.

I thought it was blood and i freaked out."

Lying on the ground screaming for help--she thought she was shot by an actual gun.

"the first thing i thought that i though was that i'm not coming home, what are my kids are going to do i'm a single mom."

A man nearby saw heidi on the ground and ran over to help.

"when i was online with the 911 operator and stuff, i was like all i want to do is go home."

Though it ended it up being a paint ball-- it still left heidi badly hurt "it's all right here, it was really numb.

A lot of the numbness started going away and i got a lot of pain up here of when i hit the ground my teeth smashed together and i cracked my tooth."

Injuries--hard to explain to her four kids... "i had an oops, i fell down because i didn't want to explain to my four year old, or my 5 year-old that there's horrible mean people out there that want to hurt people."

But while heidi was being helped-- the noise from the paintball gun started again.

"we heard pop, pops down the street, and he actually originally heard it, and they were coming back from round two.

I jumped down in the ditch, i'm not going to lie."

Luckily--- they missed the second time the bruising and swelling may be temporary--but what happened to her wednesday night will stay with her forever.

"it's not right, we're still human, you shouldn't make somebody fear like that, that's not okay."

The person or people responsible for making heidi think in those first few moments she would never see her kids again-- are still unknown tonight.

Eugene police are investigating this incident and they're asking if you have any information-- to call epd.
