After a few setbacks, Headwaters Park is getting ready to re-open for its 18th season for ice skating.

However, this year will look a little different.

They are missing camps.

They are missing a lot of activities and to have something outdoors for fun that would be great."starting at 11 am on november 21st people can return to the ice ... with restrictions.

Because of the pandemic, skaters will be limited to 50% capacity and face coverings will be required.>01:26:18-01:26:27"i think if we do take the proper steps , we will be safe and healthy."that's the goal... with help from the downtown improvement district providing 10,000 dollars and guidance from the allen county health department..

The opening is happening..executive director geoff paddock says however, beating the record of 35,000 skaters will not be happening.> 01:17:54-01:18:13"covid-19 really took a hit on all of us.

We want to make sure we have a safe place, a family friendly place, and that's why we will be limiting attendance, so we will see a drop in revenue.

We are hopeful we will be able to get through another season."

Downtown improvement district president michael galbraith says they're just happy to fill in the gap.> 01:12:25-01:12:38"this is one of those things that we can help them with.

Normally we would be a sponsor for other things like the three rivers festival that didn't happen this year.

We want to make sure headwater's park survives the covid crisis."sanitization stations will be throughout the facility and if you don't feel comfortable renting skates, you can bring your own.
