Oneida County Health Department orders gym to shut down for two weeks.

County health department to temporarily close for about two weeks.

The county executive's office says they ordered mohawk valley wellness in marcy, be shut down until december 5th.

They say it's due to the number of positive covid cases, which at the time they issued the closure, the gym had three.

Owner of the gym, john bartholomeo, sent an email out to members this weekend to let them know.

In that email, was a link to a youtube video of john explaining why they had to close.

Here's what he had to say.

:02roughly three months ago when we were allowed to reopen, it was made clear to us that inorder for us to reopen we had to make our members wear masks, i made the decision to say that's not my place to make anyone do anything they don't want to including wearing a mask.

Yesterday we were given notice by the oneida county health department that we needed to close for two weeks out :32.

":43 it is due to the factthat i have allowed, my decision which i take full responsibility for was for our members to make what i felt was the best choice as an educated and informed adult.
