Monroe County business owners continue to find creative ways to bring shoppers into their stores.

Wtva alexis jones is live in amory where one event is geared to help people holiday shop at businesses normally closed at night.

Businesses and shoppers are merged for tonight's cookie stroll.

"we really support everyone in this town.

Just pulling together and supporting local businesses."

Lydia pearson is the owner of all that and a little more.

Pearson's store is one the 14 business participating in the cookie stroll.

She said amory main street decided to have the event to help small businesses impacted but the pandemic.

Sot: "even though we do have those restrictions and we are all being very safe, it's important to still support those local businesses.

To help them through this time."

Pearson said stores are extending their hours today so people can finish holiday shopping.

Customers will receive free cookies as a thank you.

People can also stop and take a picture with santa in front of pearson's store.

The cookie stroll ends tonight at eight.

Some stores will continue to offer special sales all month long.
