The city of Lexington is taking steps to stop evictions during the pandemic

Housing.jpg the city of lexington is taking additional steps to try and keep people housed during the pandemic.

According to the mayor's office.... the many resources and options available to those in need is causing some confusion and delays in processing requests.

The mayor says the city has also hired additional employees to help process the applications.

She also says.... during the pandemic.... the city has prevented more than 500 households from being evicted and has paid out almost $870,000 in rental assistance.

But with restaurant closures, and the possible expiration of the federal eviction moratorium at the end of the month, more help will be needed.
