LEXINGTON RECORDED ITS ELEVENTH HOMICIDE THIS YEAR WHEN INVESTIGATORS SAY A 35-YEAR OLD LOUISVILLE MAN WAS SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES AND KILLED EARLY THIS MORNING.
Homicide this year when investigators say a 35-year old louisville man was shot multiple times and killed early this morning.
The coroner identified the victim as lowell washington.
Police say two other people were shot, but survived.
It happened in an apartment on dalton court shortly after five.
Abc 36's alex king takes you to the scene where she talked to nervous neighbors... in our top story at five.
Barrett: "it's my community here.
You wonder why this happened to your next door neighbors."
The deadly shooting happened here along dalton court early wednesday morning...one man...who didn't want to appear on camera...says he heard what he thought was banging on a wall...but turned out to be the sound of gunfire.
All of this has left neighbors scared... but they say they aren't surprised.
Barrett: "just a couple weeks ago or a week ago we had a kid kill on the corner of augusta and before that it was another coming on up augusta people got shot and then across the street last year someone got shot over there on raleigh there.
So it just keeps coming this way."
Barrett brandenburg lives in the apartment complex across the street from where the shooting happened.
As the violence increases...so does his concern.
Barrett: "just going to the store at night, i'm always looking around."
He says generally... it's a nice neighborhood.
Barrett: the kids are playing basketball or riding bicycles, people going to the grocery, checking the mail.
It's like a normal so called neighborhood.
People cooking out, taking care of their families.
To me it's a nice neighborhood.
