Pickup VS Dump Truck, Driver Flown, SODA, March 19, 2022 - At approximately 9:15 am on March 19, 2022, a Mack Dump Truck, driven by Kyle Dorman, 25, of Livingston, was east-bound on US-190 East.

Dorman was in the 9360 block of 190 when an west-bound gray 2012 Chevy Silverado pickup, driven by Lawrence W.

Rahr, 83, of Pasadena, suddenly veered into Dorman's lane.

Dorman cut right to avoid a head-on collision.

Rahr's pickup impacted Dorman's driver's side back tires.

The impact caused Rahr to leave the pavement to the left as his pickup came to rest in a small field.

Dorman pulled to the shoulder.

Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Indian Springs and Livingston Volunteer Fire Departments, Sergeant Adam Norris with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Cotye Lowrie with the Texas Highway Patrol.

Rahr was trapped in his vehicle.

Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut Rahr's door off and carefully remove him from his vehicle.

Rahr was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where he was flown to Houston with serious injuries.

Dorman was physically okay.

Traffic on 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.

A medical condition is believed to have been the reason that Rahr lost control of his vehicle (possibly diabetic shock).

No citations were issued.

Rahr's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

A heavy duty wrecker was sent for to recover Dorman's dump truck.
