Chancellor fills car with petrol to publicise duty cut

To publicise his 5p a litre fuel duty cut announced in his Spring Statement, Rishi Sunak posed for the media, filling a Kia Rio hatchback outside a supermarket petrol station in south London.

The Chancellor chatted to the car’s owner as he tried to get exactly £30 worth of petrol into the vehicle but narrowly failed in his endeavour.
