Taiwan maintains right to self-defense in face of Chinese aggression

Taiwan Ministry of National Defense called out China's military drills and drone antagonism at a press conference on Wednesday, saying that Taiwan maintains its right to exercise self-defense.

PLA stands for People’s Liberation Army and is the principal military force of China.

“The main strategic intention and purpose of the PLA drill is that the PLA try to establish a new normal status of military situation in the air and maritime periphery of Taiwan," said Dr. Ma Cheng-Kun of Taiwan’s National Defense University at the presser.

China’s military exercises in August forced planes to reroute and vessels to shun away from one of the busiest waterways in the world.

Responding to recent incidents of drone harassment over outlying Kinmen Island, Lin said that the Taiwan’s armed forces will implement necessary measures to dispel or counter the incoming drones.
