Mount Merapi with a peak height of 2,930 masl, Mount Mêrapi is a volcano in the central part of Java Island and is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia.

The south side of the slope is under the administration of Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, and the rest is in the area of Central Java Province, namely Magelang Regency on the west side, Boyolali Regency on the north and east side, and Klaten Regency on the southeast side.

The forest area around the peak has become the Mount Merapi National Park area since 2004.
