The Metropolitan Police commissioner has admitted that the service has "failed over two decades" after a long-serving officer pleaded guilty to 49 sexual offences.
Sir Mark Rowley said he will attempt to build the trust of Londoners by being "ruthless in rooting out those who corrupt our integrity".
