American Assault Ship Docks In South Korea Ahead of Massive Military Exercises

The ship is there just ahead of the final days of joint military exercises between the two nations, dubbed "Freedom Shield 23”.

But the ship is to take part in other maneuvers, specifically what are being called the Ssangyong amphibious landing exercises.

The Pentagon says these exercises are all in response to North Korean saber rattling for the last year, launching myriad successful missile tests and increasing their rhetoric of war.
