Goku soon achieves SSJ but is slightly weaker than his Frieza saga self and to make it fair, SSJ Goku would fight base Gohan and because of the power gap (145,000,000 and 30,000,000), Gohan would become 3x stronger since he adapted to a Super Saiyan.
