Tensions in the Middle East deepened as Iran fired its air defence batteries at a major air base and a nuclear site near Isfahan after drones were spotted.
Although Tehran refused to acknowledge the possibility of an Israeli attack, an official from the United States was quoted as saying that the strike was launched by Tel Aviv.
The central city of Isfahan in Iran is home to Iran’s major air base and is also a nuclear site.
Recently, Iran had also announced the building a fourth nuclear research reactor in the city.
