General Motors CEO Mary Barra saying that hybrids will be a part of their vehicle lineup to help meet new fuel economy standards and rules on tailpipe emissions.

GM had been touting an "all-electric" lineup by 2030 but has made changes as sales of electric vehicles have slowed.

Barra says their plan to pivot to hybrids comes as regulations have changed.

The latest sales figures show EV sales in the first quarter of the year rose two-point six percent after dropping by over 15-percent in the fourth quarter of 2023.
